Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Selling 1.3% of their equity in Airtel made a bulk deal on Friday. As reported by CNBC-TV18, around 3.1 crore shares changed hands at an amount of ₹1,820 per share which is 2.5% lower than the stock’s previous close.
Singtel May Have Reduced Stake
This sale of shares was likely done by Pastel, one of the subsidiaries dealing in investments of Singapore based Singtel. Pastel owned 9.49% share in Bharti Airtel as of the March 2025 quarter.
Profit Improves in Q4FY25
Airtel disclosed that it had a surge by 432% in their consolidated net profit for the quarter ending March 31 2025 which surged to ₹11,022 crore comparing with the total of ₹2,072 crore in the previous year's quarter. Alongside this statement, telecom company announced a final dividend of ₹16 per share for FY25.
Revenue and ARPU Trends
In the last quarter of FY25, Bharti Airtel’s consolidated revenue increased by 27% on a yearly basis reaching ₹47,876 crore. The company's average revenue per user also increased which stood at ARPU of ₹245 from ₹209 in Q4FY24 and remained unchanged from Q3FY25.
Subscriber Growth and Network Expansion
Airtel was able to bring on 24 million new smartphone users resulting in them achieving a 9.5% yearly growth. To further improve the quality and reach of their services, the company expanded their network by adding approximately 3,300 new towers and 13,600 mobile broadband sites.
Market Response
Airtel's shares dropped by 2.6% and were trading at ₹1,818.6 on the NSE, even though the company’s quarterly results were strong.
