Apoorva Mukhija Goes Silent on Social Media Amid 'India’s Got Latent' Controversy

Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as The Rebel Kid, has taken a step back from the public eye after being caught in the storm surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial comments on the show India’s Got Latent, hosted by comedian Samay Raina.

Following Ranveer’s return to Instagram and YouTube, Apoorva appears to have wiped her Instagram clean — her account now shows zero posts, zero following, and no new activity, although she still has nearly three million followers and visible story highlights.

Controversy Sparks Backlash and Threats

The situation escalated after offensive remarks made by Ranveer Allahbadia on the show triggered intense public backlash. A police complaint was filed against Ranveer, Samay Raina, and Apoorva Mukhija, with Ashish Chanchlani also present at the time.

Amid the backlash, Apoorva reportedly received death and sexual assault threats, prompting her to distance herself from the digital space. She also unfollowed everyone on Instagram soon after the controversy went public.

Both Apoorva and Ranveer have reportedly given their statements to the National Commission for Women (NCW) and are cooperating with the legal process.

Avoiding Public Attention, Despite Bollywood Debut

Apoorva has avoided any public interactions. She was recently seen leaving a Khar police station with her face covered, dodging media questions. Separately, she was spotted in a viral TikTok video at a Sabrina Carpenter concert in Paris, allegedly causing a scene.

Interestingly, Apoorva made her Bollywood debut in the film Nadaaniyan, alongside Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan, in a supporting role. However, she skipped the film's premiere and has not promoted her debut on any social media platforms — a move that surprised many fans and industry watchers.

With her social presence virtually erased and her debut film released without her endorsement, fans are wondering whether Apoorva Mukhija is preparing for a prolonged break or a rebranding strategy. For now, she remains silent amid ongoing investigations and growing pressure from the public.
