Suspense crime, Digital Desk : In a bid to test the system's response and preparedness to emergencies, the administration of Amritsar District conducted another blackout drill during the early hours on Thursday, shortly after participating in a civil defense mock drill at the national level.

The officials started the drill at around 1:30 a.m. and instructed the public to stay calm and indoors. Confirming the start of the exercise, the Amritsar District Public Relations Officer urged everyone to stay calm and panic during the exercise.

Residents Were Asked to Stay Indoors and Switch Off All External Lighting

In addition, the administration called on the public to refrain from illuminating their outdoor lights and avoid going outside. This was meant to increase the level of preparedness and guarantee cooperation from different bodies and members of the public during a real emergency.

Drill Follows Earlier Nation Exercise Amritsar’s Earlier drill took place on the 10th of June from 10:30 pm-11 pm. It was in line with the civil defense week which is conducted by the Ministry of Home Affair (MHA) which encompassed region wide blackouts in the country’s numerous regions to assess emergency systems.

Drill Follows Military Operation in PoK  

These pre-pactivated drills came right after India's surgical strike called 'Operaton Sindoor’ aimed at the terror networks within Pakistan and PoK. This was a counter action to the ‘Pahalgam’ incident dated April 22.
