In 2016, Aishwarya drew gasps from onlookers when she went one step further to break the norm by selecting purple lipstick for the event. This bold choice was something shocking and turned out to be one of the most memorable highlights of her maundering through Cannes lens.

The outfit that matched the mood
Her gown was a pastel off-the-shoulder dress and it had purple flowers embroidered on the gown. The gown was structured in a curvaceous ashape with a long trailing extension to it, elegant dress. To top her look, Aishwarya had blended soft grey eye shadow with heavy mascara and her brows were carved out with strong strokes adding even more elegance.
A Backlash and A Voice Of Support
Despite facing heavy criticism online for the look she sported, Aishwarya has received praise from her father in law, Amitabh Bachchan. Speaking to DNA, he defended her bold aesthetic decision, arguing in the form of a question, “What is wrong with that?... Atleast now you know what others think about you... the good part is, it lasts for a day or half a day.”
Looking Ahead to Cannes 2025
Aishwarya’s public appearances and participation in events is something many hope she brings back to the film industry, especially during Cannes Film Festival which commenced on May 13. The festival will carry on until May 24.
