After creating suspense by staying in Satara for two days, Maharashtra’s acting Chief Minister Eknath Shinde returned to Mumbai on Sunday. After returning to Mumbai, Shinde spoke openly about his displeasure. He openly said that he is with the BJP in every situation. However, he left the decision on who will be the CM to PM Modi and Amit Shah.

Shinde is still silent on Home Ministry.

Eknath Shinde is claiming to stay with the government at all costs but is not saying anything about the Deputy CM and ministries. If sources are to be believed, the formula prepared for ministries in the new government includes-

  • BJP hasa  CM post and 17 ministries
  • Shiv Sena has deputy CM and 9 ministries
  • NCP can have a deputy CM and 7 ministries.

But the problem here is regarding the Home Ministry. It is believed that Shinde is demanding the Home Ministry but BJP wants to keep the Home Ministry with itself. Sources say that Eknath Shinde wants 9 ministries including the Deputy CM and Home Ministry in the Maharashtra Government. These include important ministries like Revenue, PWD, and Urban Development.

Shinde had a high fever.

Shinde left for his native village in Satara district on Friday after he developeda  high fever. There were speculations that Shinde was not happy with the formation of the new government. Speaking to reporters in his village on Sunday before leaving for Mumbai, Shinde said, “I have already said that the decision taken by the BJP leadership on the chief minister’s post will be acceptable to me and Shiv Sena and it will have my full support.” When asked whether his son and Lok Sabha member Srikant Shinde will be made deputy chief minister in the new government and whether Shiv Sena has staked claim to the home portfolio, Shinde said, “Talks are on.” He said, “Last week we had a meeting with (Union Minister) Amit Shah in Delhi. Now we three alliance partners will discuss the details of government formation.”

What did you say about your role in Mahayuti?

When asked about his health, the Shiv Sena leader said he was fine now and had come to his native village to rest. Shinde reiterated that there are no differences among the Mahayuti allies and pointed out that the BJP is yet to announce its legislative party leader. “The BJP is yet to announce its legislative party leader. We will fulfill the aspirations of the people. There are no differences between us. We will make decisions in the interest of the people. There is no need to repeat my stand,” he said.

Fadnavis will be crowned!

Meanwhile, there is a lot of activity in the BJP regarding government formation. The party can announce the name of the central observer for Maharashtra today, after which on December 3, the central observer of BJP will come to Mumbai and hold a meeting and then the CM will be formally announced in the legislative party meeting. Devendra Fadnavis’s name is in the race for the CM post. If sources are to be believed, Fadnavis’ name has been finalized in the meeting with Amit Shah in Delhi, now the announcement is pending.

Why the delay in government formation in Maharashtra?

At the same time, Shiv Sena Uddhav faction leader Sanjay Raut is taking a dig at the delay in forming the government in Maharashtra. Raut says that the leader of the legislative party has not been elected yet and the date of swearing-in has been announced. When Sanjay Raut raised questions about the new government and oath, BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar also explained in the same manner why there was a delay in forming the government.

Let us tell you that the date of swearing in of the new government in Maharashtra has been announced. Now only the announcement of who will be the face of the government remains to be made.
