During a framed talk via social media with a Chinese fan club, Khan was quoted saying, “I’m working on Sitaare Zameen Par right now. It’s almost ready. It’s not a direct large sequel, but thematically, it goes ten steps ahead."

RS Prasanna will direct Sitaare Zamin Par which is an official Bollywood adaptation of Spanish sports comedy Champions. The lead character is a disgraced coach given the unenviable task of training a team of mentally challenged players.
Darsheel Safary, who starred alongside Aamir Khan in Taare Zamin Par, plays the male lead opposite Genelia Deshmukh who reprises her role as the female lead.
With no date set for the release, there is growing anticipation for the film due to Aamir Khan being known for his work in socially relevant and thought-provoking movies.
