Suspense crime, Digital Desk : After a 25-year wait, fans of the iconic 1999 patriotic thriller Sarfarosh have received the update they have been waiting for. Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has officially confirmed that a sequel to the beloved film is in the works.

The confirmation came during a promotional event for his son Junaid Khan's debut film, Maharaj. When questioned about the long-rumored sequel, Aamir Khan put an end to the speculation with a simple but powerful statement: "Sarfarosh 2, abhi kaam chal raha hai" (For Sarfarosh 2, the work is currently in progress).

The original Sarfarosh, directed by John Matthew Matthan, is considered a landmark film in modern Hindi cinema. Aamir Khan’s portrayal of the tough and dedicated ACP Ajay Singh Rathod, a police officer determined to stop cross-border terrorism, earned him critical acclaim and a special place in the hearts of audiences. The film, also starring Sonali Bendre and Naseeruddin Shah, was celebrated for its gripping narrative, realistic approach, and powerful performances.

For years, director John Matthew Matthan has mentioned that he has been developing a script for the sequel, but a definitive confirmation from the lead actor had been elusive until now.

While Aamir kept the details brief, his announcement has ignited excitement across social media. Fans are eagerly anticipating the return of ACP Ajay Singh Rathod to the big screen.
