Today, 21 organizations in the country have called for a Bharat Bandh against the Supreme Court’s decision on the creamy layer in SC-ST reservation. Due to this, a protest is being held in Bihar’s capital Patna. During the protest, there was a clash between the Bihar Police and the protesters, after which the police lathi-charged the people and also sprayed water from water cannons. During this, a policeman lathi-charged the SDO.

SDM sahab was beaten up

Given Bharat Bandh, many shops remained closed in the district, while some shopkeepers shut their shops as soon as the demonstration began. Similarly, many schools had declared a holiday on Tuesday night itself. During this time, some schools opened but were soon closed given the demonstration. According to the information received, the protesters barricaded the road at Patna’s Dakbungla crossing, after which the police had to use police force. The police lathi-charged the protesters and chased them away, during which a constable also hit the SDO sahab with a lathi.

Who are the officers?

A constable hit SDO Shrikant Khandekar present in the crowd with a stick from behind. Being in civil dress, the constable did not know that he was an officer, then he could not see in the crowd from behind and mistakenly mistook him for a protester and hit him with a stick. According to the information, Shrikant Kundlik Khandekar is a native of Maharashtra and an IAS officer of the Indian Administrative Service 2020 batch.

DM had warned

However, Patna DM had already warned everyone that any kind of anarchy will not be tolerated in the district and strict action will be taken against those who break the law. Those who use force, block traffic, and disrupt law and order and public life will be dealt with strictly. FIR will also be registered against such people.
