Good news for young aspirants looking to join the Uttar Pradesh Police! Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that 30,000 new police personnel will soon be recruited across the state. This major recruitment drive was confirmed by the CM during a discussion on the Governor’s address in the UP Assembly.

30,000 Police Vacancies, 20% Reservation for Women

During his speech, CM Yogi highlighted that more than 60 lakh youth have been employed in Uttar Pradesh so far. Since 2017, the police department alone has recruited 1.56 lakh personnel, and currently, the selection process for 60,200 additional police personnel is underway. Their training is expected to begin in a month.

As part of the Mission Shakti initiative, the state government has introduced 20% reservation for women in police recruitment. A detailed official notification regarding these new vacancies will be released soon.

Formation of Special Security Forces and Cyber Labs

The state government has taken significant steps to strengthen security across Uttar Pradesh:

  • A Special Security Force (SSF) has been formed to ensure safety at metros and airports. Six battalions have already been established.
  • An Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has also been created to curb drug-related crimes.
  • In the fight against cybercrime, a state-of-the-art Cyber Forensic Lab has been set up at the Cyber Crime Headquarters in Lucknow. Additionally, Basic Cyber Forensic Labs have been established in 18 police stations, and Cyber Crime Police Stations are now operational in 57 districts.

Deployment of 2,668 Policemen in Government Railway Police (GRP)

To strengthen railway security, the DGP Headquarters has instructed police commissioners and IG Range officers to nominate 2,668 police personnel for deployment in Government Railway Police (GRP). These positions will replace officers who have completed their tenure in the GRP.

The nominations include:

  • 215 Sub-Inspectors
  • 2,453 Head Constables and Constables (under the age of 47)

Additionally, officers with past disciplinary actions, those engaged in VIP security, or those with disabilities will not be considered for this transfer.
