
During the Mahakumbh Mela period Prayagraj District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandar lifted the vehicle entry limitations implemented by the Uttar Pradesh authorities to enable better commute for devotees.

The social media reports about vehicle entry restrictions in Prayagraj are untrue according to DM Mandar. This is completely baseless. The diversion system operated exclusively during the Mauni Amavasya amrit snan (holy bath) religious event.
The authorities have ordered police forces to eliminate all barriers and diversions that existed since January 30 as devotees return to the site. The authorities have officially stated that traffic limitations inside Prayagraj will not apply throughout January 31 and February 1 and February 4.
Diversion on February 2 and 3 for 'amrit snan'
On the day of Basant Panchami amrit snan Mandar stated that the diversion plan will be reactivated starting February 2 through February 3.
The Mela Officer together with the DIG will operate their own independent process for vehicle entry at the mela region based on future communications. No vehicle restrictions exist within the Prayagraj Commissionerate area in accordance with his statement.

The DM of Prayagraj through Ravindra Kumar stated that vehicle entry to Prayagraj remained unrestricted for dates January 31, February 1 and February 4. The divergence scheme will be activated solely for the dates of February 2 and 3 according to his directive. The official denied popular rumors about automobile restrictions that were claimed to extend until February 4.
People will be informed about the unique vehicle entry system for the Mela Kshetra through Mela officials and DIG. The Commissionerate area does not impose any restrictions regarding vehicular entry according to him."
The Yogi Government introduced movement restrictions for VIP guests throughout the major bathing days on Thursday. VIPs and VVIPs delegations intending to visit Prayagraj during Basant Panchami, Magh Purnima, Mahashivratri will not receive special privileges unless their visit takes place before or after the mentioned festive dates.
The three-member judicial commission began its formal investigation to study the Mauni Amavasya Prayagraj Mahakumbh stampede that killed 30 individuals. The commission members started work right after reaching Janpath Lucknow office on Thursday.
Justice (Retired) Harsh Kumar led as Commission chairman because he established the investigation process directly after the announcement.
According to him "we have one month for the inquiry but will strive to finish it in the shortest timeframe." Justice Kumar has declared a forthcoming visit of the commission to Prayagraj for direct assessment of the situation. The officials including UP DGP Prashant Kumar and Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh together with other high-ranking representatives conducted a field inspection in Prayagarj.
