On Friday, Trump terminated Airforce Gen. CQ Brown from serving as the Chairman on the Joint Chiefs of Staff, instantly dismissing a veteran pilot and officer as a part of his controversial campaign against the military supporting any form of equity and diversity within their ranks.
Trump posting on his socials remarks on his nomination, "I want to thank General Charles 'CQ' Brown for his over 40 years of service to our country including as our current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.. And I look forward to a great future for him and his family."
His replacement will be Airforce Lt Gen Dan “Razin” Caine as his next appointee. The removal of Brown, only the second Black general to serve in this position, will without a doubt rattle Washington as his term was primarily focused on the war in the Ukraine and the escalated violence in the Middle East.
Even with the backing for Brown from significant parts of the legislature, Trump went ahead and did what he wanted to do and this was clear from the meeting that he had with him in mid December wherein the two were seated next to each other at the Army Navy football game's interlude. Brown was having regular meetings with the new Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, who came to the top of the Pentagon just four weeks back.
