The cold spell continues to hit stronger across parts of North India especially the Kashmir Valley which recorded temperatures further below zero. IMD in its report further adds that the temperature in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh is still very close to zero and due to frost events are likely to occur across the north indian region as it gets colder.
As per the report, the intensity of the cold has expanded north of Delhi; But in contrast South India reported temperatures varying from 25°C to as high as 30°C during the day.
Weather offices predict rainfall and snowfall later in the week for the North West Region due to a western disturbance and in turn expect temperatures to rise in the upcoming days anywhere in the range of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius.
As per the notice received, waves of sever cold are anticipated to possible over isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh ,Colder conditions are expected to prevail in Jammu and Punjab, particularly in the areas of Ladakh between Thursday and Friday, Punjab on Friday and then Kashmir on Saturday. Ladakh and Kashmir may also experience colder temperatures on Saturday. Locations such as Fatehpur 1.1 degree celsius were classified as the lowest in the Sikar district due to extreme weather conditions persisting in parts.

Srinagar reached the bottom with temperatures finally resting at a historic low of -1 degrees Celsius whereas the day time led to a drastic surge in temperatures whereas previous night observed a temperature drop to 0.9 degrees Celsius.
Gulmarg has seen a new record low temperature level of -9.8 degrees Celsius becoming the new low after -6.6 degrees.

The weather forecast predicts a few dry days ahead with a couple of showers and light snowfall in certain areas of kashmir and secluded locations over the next few days.
Further it was stated that the mercury may dip to an even lower point than the -1.9 Kelvins marker that was already set, this may also unleash a cold wave in the country.

Across other peas and states, a cold wave was observed in dispiriting Hamirpur, Kangra and Mandi districts. thick layers of fog were blanketing Bilaspur and Mandi while shallow fog was stagnant in the Kangra region.
Expect a dry weather in all regions excluding Lahaul, Spiti and Kinnaur, which may see harsh snowfall. A bit wishing is also possible in the mid and high hills during Saturday and Sunday.
Taking hint from the weather department, make sure to stay inside for the cold wave while the disturbing cold stretch continues in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra and Mandi districts altogether.
