Manoj’s spouse, who goes by the name Shabana Raza professionally appeared in films up until 2009, where she acted alongside Bobby Deol in the 1998 movie Kareeb which was produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra is an accomplished director whose works include 12th fail and also Laage Raho Munna Bhai, Mission Kashmir, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S, and many others.

Manoj Bajpayee disclosed an unusual and somewhat confusing incident in a recent interview with Mid-Day in which Chopra repeatedly yelled Shabana and bit her wrist during the film’s production.

Manoj claimed that "Since Shabana had no such film education, she was making all the wrong hand gestures during the song. At one point, she was supposed to lift her left hand, but she did not remember, so she always lifted her right hand instead. So, she had to be nipped there by Vidhu in order to recall the words: raising her left hand in the southern hut - who can do this with me."

Manoj sir had also illustrated that, “She was young in the industry, thus she was oblivious if the move was correct. This action: ‘Who is a fool? Who does these things to people?’ - she must’ ve thought these guys are fools, they are geniuses and can do whatever they want,”

Kareeb unfortunately failed at the box office, even with big names such as Vidhu Vinod Chopra in the directing department and other big actors featuring in the film. There was slight appreciation for the cinematography and editing of the movie but overall it wasn’t commercially successful.

Bobby Deol in an interview with Filmfare in 2001, reflected on the occurrence and brought up his views on it. He said, 'Neha had a particular scene where she was supposed to descend the slope and hand me her left hand instead. But there was always a mix-up from her side. Those numerous tries to do that failed and so Vidhu instructed her to bite her right hand. Although that was successfully done, that was not right in the next take. After twenty gets, Vidhu kissed her angrily. Do you know what he did next? He sexually assaulted her right hand with his mouth. I did not know how to respond because I was too appalled.'

Besides this Bobby Deol also said that Neha was often made fun of by Chopra particularly during the shoot when she was screamed and cursed at the most.

She acted alongside essential actors, Hritikh in Fiza, Ajay in Pyaar Ki Jeet, Prabhu In a Tamil film decreased her work with Neha bajpai later. She featured and worked with Shiva Rajkumar, Irrfan, Fardeen, Dino and others. Even though she had an extremely fruitful profession, after she'd acted in acid factory in 2009 she decided to retire from acting.

During his most recent interview, Manoj Bajpayee elucidated why she hasn’t been active in the film industry and said, “She didn't retire from the movies, she simply stopped working because of some unknown reason. She is also a non-indigenous and never had a tutor,”
