The Mahakumbh Mela continues to attract a massive number of devotees from across the world, with pilgrims gathering to take a holy dip at the sacred confluence. According to the Uttar Pradesh Information Department, over 41 crore people have participated in the ritual so far. Drone footage from the Triveni Sangam ghats shows a sea of devotees assembling at the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela.

The World's Largest Spiritual Gathering

The Maha Kumbh, which commenced on Paush Purnima (January 13), is recognized as the largest spiritual and cultural event in the world. The grand festival will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26, drawing pilgrims and saints from different parts of India and the globe.

Despite the conclusion of the three sacred Amrit Snan festivals—Makar Sankranti, Mauni Amavasya, and Basant Panchami—pilgrims continue to arrive in large numbers to partake in the holy ritual.

Record-Breaking Devotee Turnout

The highest footfall was recorded on Mauni Amavasya, where eight crore devotees took a dip, as per state government data. The Makar Sankranti Amrit Snan saw 3.5 crore devotees, while the Basant Panchami Snan witnessed 2.57 crore pilgrims participating in the ritual.

Additionally, more than two crore devotees took a dip on January 30 and February 1, while 1.7 crore performed the ritual on Paush Purnima.

Prominent political figures have also participated in the sacred dip, including:

  • Defence Minister Rajnath Singh
  • Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
  • Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy
  • Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav

The Mahakumbh 2025 continues to be a spiritual, cultural, and social spectacle, with millions of devotees converging at Prayagraj to seek divine blessings.
