A vast number of devotees participated in the third major Amrit Snan celebration of Maha Kumbh which occurred on Basant Panchami at the sacred Triveni Sangam for a soul-soothing bathe. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath supervised the event closely from his position in Lucknow to maintain its satisfactory operation.

The first part of the day began with Naga sadhus and other sadhus following traditional rituals to visit the river ghats. The religious ceremony of Juna Akhara together with other akharas concluded their sacred ritual before 6 am. A helicopter dropped fragrant rose petals during the ceremony that both raised the spirit and established a magnificent environment.

According to Uttar Pradesh Information Department records there were 62.25 million devotees who performed the holy bath before 8 am today resulting in a total of 34.97 crore pilgrims since January 13. The Amrit Snan ceremony during Maha Kumbh 2025 reaches its conclusion on Basant Panchami, the sacred festival.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed congratulations to all attending seers together with devotees who participated in the third major Amrit Snan.

Through his X account Adityanath shared his appreciation to "the revered saints, religious leaders and all Akharas together with Kalpvasis and devotees who received the holy blessings of taking the 'Amrit' dip at Triveni Sangam during Basant Panchami celebrations at Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj." Since the start of the event the Chief Minister maintains vigilance by monitoring progress reports sent from officials while staying at his Lucknow residence.

DIG Maha Kumbh Vaibhav Krishna affirmed that all arrangements are superb while we maintain full control of the crowds today. The holy dip of all participating Akharas turned out to be a great success. The Mahanirvani Akhara and Juna Akhara along with Niranjani Akhara have successfully marked the end of their prayer rituals which other Akharas will accomplish their snan procedures successfully.

Vivek Chaturvedi from the Additional Mela Officer position noted that this marked the third Amrit Snan which occurred during Basant Panchami. A large number of Akharas continue to arrive individually to perform their holy dip at Sangam. Our security forces are heavily deployed while administration monitors the status of the event continuously.

More than 16.58 lakh people soaked in the holy waters before 4 am which raised the total to 34.97 crore since January 13. The authorities predict five crore pilgrims to participate in the gathering specifically for Basant Panchami.

Additional safety standards emerged after the January 29 unfortunate stampede during Mauni Amavasya Amrit Snan. The local administration alongside police forces together with the pilgrims have ensured the collection of crowds occurs evenly across multiple ghats which minimizes the danger of overcrowded conditions.

The Kumbh Mela stands out this year due to the "Triveni Yog" celestial alignment identified by astrologers that comes only once every 144 years thus making the Kumbh Mela exceptionally blessed. Many akharas perform their religious dips into the pre-planned ritual sequence according to established arrangements. First in line to immerse were the members of Sanyasi sect accompanied by Bairagi and Udaseen followers.

The South American holy being Mahamandaleshwar Shri Devi Maa thanked God for allowing her to receive divine grace through this sacred immersion into the Ganges. At the Maha Kumbh Mela we acquire the chance to transform our mind into a higher spiritual understanding.

Swami Vishnu Maharaj of Shambhu Panch Agni Akhada evaluated the divine power through his words about the spiritual environment which has increased in value since Akharas and devotees began attending Prayagraj. The pilgrimage site maintains an intense spiritual atmosphere together with refined facilities for all travelers visiting the holy ground.

Security enhancements have allowed the ongoing 'Amrit Snan' to continue without significant disturbances for all pilgrims' protection.
