With the completion of the Khurramnagar flyover, the 15-km journey from Engineering College crossing to Shaheed Path turn now takes just 10 minutes. Earlier, commuters spent around 40 minutes covering this distance due to heavy traffic congestion.
Daily Benefit for 5 Lakh Commuters
The flyover is proving to be a significant advantage for residents and commuters from Jankipuram, Aliganj, Indiranagar, Gomtinagar, and Sitapur Road. Around 5 lakh people use this route daily, reaching their destinations faster without traffic interruptions.
Major Relief from Traffic Jams
Previously, travelers moving between Khurramnagar and Indiranagar faced severe traffic jams. Now, with the flyover in place, they are free from long queues and delays. This is particularly beneficial for office-goers and students, ensuring timely travel.
Four-Lane Design for Smooth Traffic Flow
Spanning 2.5 km in length, the flyover features four lanes, with two lanes dedicated for each direction. This design has significantly improved the flow of traffic, making vehicle movement smoother and faster.
Construction Cost of Rs 180 Crore
The flyover's construction involved an expenditure of Rs 180 crore. A key aspect of its approval was the intervention of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who personally requested clearance from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Seamless Connectivity with Munshipulia Flyover
A major highlight of the project is its direct connectivity to the Munshipulia flyover, eliminating the need for commuters to take longer routes. Previously, travelers from Munshipulia to Khurramnagar had to detour via the ring road, but now they can reach their destinations directly.
Hassle-Free Travel from Ayodhya Road to Sitapur
The flyover has made traveling between Ayodhya Road, Sitapur, and Indiranagar significantly easier. Passengers no longer need to navigate through smaller, congested roads, as they now have a clear, uninterrupted route.
Engineering Challenges Over the Kukrail River
A section of the flyover is constructed over the Kukrail river, posing significant engineering challenges. Heavy rains further delayed the construction process. However, despite these difficulties, the flyover is now fully operational.
Night Travel Convenience with Completed Lighting Work
Initially, the flyover was open only for daytime traffic. However, with the completion of lighting installations, it is now accessible at night, offering greater convenience to late-night travelers.
