The debate over online content has taken a serious turn as the Indian government takes steps to regulate YouTubers accused of spreading obscenity and offensive material. In the latest controversy, popular influencers like Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and Apoorva Makhija have come under fire for their controversial remarks, sparking widespread outrage and official investigations.

Public Outrage Against Content Creators

A growing number of people, especially women, have expressed anger over the content being produced by YouTubers like Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and Apoorva Makhija. Critics argue that these influencers are using vulgar language, inappropriate jokes, and controversial takes on sensitive topics to gain followers and monetize their platforms.

Many believe that social media personalities who use vulgarity and controversy to increase their audience should face strict action. The main concern is that their content negatively influences young viewers and promotes a culture of disrespect and obscenity.

Government Steps In to Curb Online Obscenity

In response to the growing backlash, the Maharashtra government has announced a large-scale investigation into content creators accused of spreading indecent material. Maharashtra's Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar has instructed officials to scrutinize digital content that promotes obscenity, particularly programs that sell tickets or operate without approval from regulatory boards.

According to Shelar’s office, this directive comes after the uproar over controversial comments made by Ranveer Allahbadia on the YouTube comedy show "India's Got Latent." The government is also investigating similar programs, including the Marathi-language show "Kandepohe."

Shelar has assured the public that no one will be spared—whether they are individual YouTubers or large-scale entertainment platforms like AIB.

What Happened on "India's Got Latent"?

The controversy erupted after Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, and Apoorva Makhija participated in a recently streamed episode of the show "India's Got Latent."

During the episode, Allahbadia allegedly made inappropriate remarks about parents and sexual relations. But he didn’t stop there—he also reportedly made an indecent offer to a female contestant, further adding to the outrage.

Adding fuel to the fire, Apoorva Makhija, the only female judge on the panel, made explicit and vulgar comments during the show, shocking viewers and leading to even greater public backlash.

Demand to Shut Down the Show

Angry viewers have taken to social media to share video clips from "India’s Got Latent," demanding that the show be shut down. The backlash has put the show’s entire panel under scrutiny.

  • Apoorva Makhija was questioned by police for two hours over her remarks.
  • Ashish Chanchlani’s statement has also been recorded.
  • Mumbai Police and Assam Police have launched investigations into the show’s content and its creators.

The Maharashtra Cyber Police has also written a notice to Samay Raina, instructing him to remove all 18 episodes of "India’s Got Latent" that contain objectionable content.

Legal Action and FIR Filed

In a major development, Maharashtra Cyber Police has registered an FIR against Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and others for allegedly creating and broadcasting pornographic content under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act.

Currently, over 30 people are under police investigation, and the case is expected to intensify in the coming days.
