Elon Musk, primarily known as the head of Tesla and SpaceX, seems keen on extending his social media collection. After paying a jaw-dropping $44 billion in October 2022 for Twitter, Musk has now simply re-branded the platform into “X”. Now yet another news came, claiming that Mosrk is seeking to add tiktok, a renowned short video app, to his portfolio. Recently, bloomberg news reported, the Chinese parent corporation of Tiktok has reportedly been mulling over selling the app subsidiaries in America on the back of Alpha TikTik’s growing popularity as well as the possibility of the US government banning the app.

The issues emerge from a session in the Supreme Court of America in which the Government tolerated the sale of TikTok alongside China’s ByteDance owned parent company over national security concerns. Particularly in US, the authorities have been anxious about the app’s concern to the Chinese government and how this would be in the American regards possible safety.

At the moment, tiktok has approximately 170 million users in the US and due to similar reasons on Chinese America US strategy an even more substantial number of countries such as India has already banned the app.

As part of the fresh protocols, it is feasible that TikTok will be banned in the United States starting with January 19. On the other hand, TikTok has a chance of avoiding a complete ban if Musk decides to acquire the company’s US base.

On the other hand, the Chairman of Parliamentary Committee on Communications and Information Technology Dr. Nishikant Dubey said that the Committee plans to invite Meta after the CEO Mark Zuckerberg allegations about the 18th Lok Sabha election. He remarked that such misinformation would harm the image of a democracy and indicated that the said organization owes an apology to the Indian Parliament and the people for the falsehoods.
