Suspense crime, Digital Desk :  In a powerful demonstration of its commitment to the nation's security forces, Punjab National Bank (PNB) has provided crucial financial aid totaling ₹1.7 Crore to the families of 17 personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

The support was delivered through the bank's flagship "PNB Rakshak Plus" scheme, an initiative designed specifically to serve the needs of India's defense and police personnel. The financial assistance was formally presented in a solemn ceremony held in New Delhi, honoring the memory of the fallen heroes.

Atul Kumar Goel, the Managing Director and CEO of PNB, presented the cheques to the families in the presence of Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla and the Directors General of the Central Armed Police Forces. Speaking at the event, Home Secretary Bhalla commended PNB for its steadfast support and highlighted the significant impact of the Rakshak Plus scheme on the welfare of service members.

More than just a standard salary account, the PNB Rakshak Plus scheme is a comprehensive financial and social security package tailored for defense personnel, paramilitary forces, and police. Key features of the scheme include:

  1. Significant Insurance Coverage: It provides substantial Personal Accidental Insurance and Air Accidental Insurance, offering a critical financial safety net for families in the event of a tragedy.
  2. Support for Dependents: The scheme includes provisions for financial assistance towards the education of the children of deceased personnel.
  3. Zero Balance Account: It offers a zero-balance salary account, removing the burden of maintaining a minimum balance.

This initiative is not just a financial transaction; it is a tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the CAPF personnel. By providing this support, PNB reinforces its role as a socially responsible institution dedicated to the well-being of the protectors of the nation and their families.
