4-Year-Old Girl Calls Grandmother to Show Mother’s Lifeless Body in Moradabad

In a heartbreaking and shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, a 4-year-old girl made a video call to her grandmother on Wednesday night to show her mother’s lifeless body hanging in their home in Buddhi Vihar Colony. The girl, in a distressed voice, said, “Papa hung mom. She is not responding.”

Grandmother’s Quick Action Leads to Police Involvement

During the video call, the child pointed the phone towards the tragic scene, leaving her grandmother in shock. Realizing the gravity of the situation, the elderly woman immediately alerted the police and other family members.

According to a report by the Times of India, the girl’s father, Rohit Kumar, a software engineer from Modinagar, Ghaziabad, was taken into custody before dawn on Thursday for questioning.

Victim Identified as Primary School Teacher Ruby Rani

The deceased, Ruby Rani (35), was a primary school teacher at Bikampur Kulwada, Kundarki Block, Moradabad. Originally from Jalalpur, Muradnagar, Ghaziabad, she married Rohit Kumar in 2019. The couple had been living with their daughter in a rented house in Moradabad.

Police Investigation Underway

SP (City) Ranvijay Singh confirmed that Rohit Kumar had been taken into custody for questioning. “A case is being registered, and the investigation will proceed based on the post-mortem report,” he stated.

Forensic experts were called to the scene to examine the evidence.

Family Alleges Murder, Claims Financial Disputes Were a Factor

The victim’s family strongly refuted the possibility of suicide, alleging murder. They claimed that Rohit Kumar staged the crime to look like suicide. The family further accused him of pressuring Ruby for money, leading to frequent disputes between the couple.

On the day of the incident, Kumar allegedly transferred ₹50,000 from Ruby’s account to his own without her consent. The couple jointly owned a house in Modinagar, for which Ruby was paying the installments alone after Kumar stopped contributing financially. He reportedly wanted to sell the house, but Ruby refused, causing further tension.

The family also accused Kumar of mentally and physically torturing Ruby, adding that he had been putting her under immense pressure for financial support.

Police Also Investigating Possible Suicide Angle

While the family believes it was a planned murder, the police have not ruled out the possibility of suicide. According to authorities, Ruby called Kumar before the incident, allegedly threatening to take her own life.

The police have seized Kumar’s phone, laptop, and other electronic devices as part of the investigation. The final conclusion will depend on the post-mortem report and forensic findings.

This heart-wrenching incident has raised concerns about domestic abuse, financial exploitation, and mental health struggles within families. Authorities continue their probe to ensure justice is served.
