In fact, as soon as the first installment of PMAY came, 11 women of the district left their husbands and ran away with their lovers. According to the report of News 18, 11 women in Maharajganj district of Uttar Pradesh allegedly took Rs 40,000 as the first installment from the government under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY Scheme) and left their husbands and ran away with their lovers. This incident came to light when their husbands informed the police about the incident.

2,350 beneficiaries received money

According to the report, recentlAs50 beneficiaries received money under PMAY in Maharajganj district. It is being told that these beneficiaries are from Thuthibari, Sheetlapur, Chatia, Ramnagar, Bakul Diha, Khasra, Kishunpur and Medhauli villages. Some reports also claim that after this incident, the officials have decided to stop paying the second installment to the beneficiaries.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, poor and middle class families get assistance from the government to build a permanent house. The government also gives a subsidy of up to Rs 2.5 lakh based on the income of the family. In case of any fraud, the officials can ask for the money back from the beneficiaries. Last year also a similar incident happened in Uttar Pradesh, when four married women ran awathe y from home with their lovers after getting money under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Such cases have come to the fore earlier also

It is said that as soon as the four women received the aid of middle-class 50,000 in their bank accounts, they fled with their lovers. At that time, the officials noticed that the construction work of their houses had not started. The officials also sent notices and ordered to start the construction work of their houses immediately, but there was no response.
