For millions of farmers across Uttar Pradesh, tomorrow Friday, March 13, 2026 is set to be a significant day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to release the 22nd installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme during his visit to Guwahati, Assam.

In Uttar Pradesh alone, more than 2 crore farmers are expected to see the familiar notification of ₹2,000 being credited directly to their bank accounts. Nationally, the government is dispersing over ₹18,640 crore to approximately 9.32 crore eligible farmer families.

The "Farmer ID" Hurdle in Uttar Pradesh While the news is largely positive, there is a catch for a significant number of people in UP. Reports suggest that nearly 23.11 lakh farmers in the state might hit a roadblock this time. The reason? A missing Farmer ID.

The UP government has made it clear that a unique Farmer ID—a digital identity part of the AgriStack initiative—is now mandatory for receiving benefits. Districts like Etawah, Amethi, Rampur, and Ghaziabad are reportedly lagging behind in registrations. If you haven't updated your land records or created this ID, your payment might be temporarily withheld until the paperwork is cleared.

Why Your Payment Might Be Delayed Even if you are a long-time beneficiary, the system has become more rigorous to prevent fraud. Here are the three main "filters" you need to pass:

e-KYC Completion: If your e-KYC isn't updated via the portal or a CSC center, the payment won't go through.

Aadhaar Seeding: Your bank account must be linked to your Aadhaar for the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to work.

Land Verification: Your name must match the latest land records verified by the state government.

A Direct Boost for the Sowing Season This installment comes at a crucial time for farmers in the Hindi heartland as they prepare for the upcoming agricultural cycle. Whether it's buying seeds, fertilizers, or managing irrigation, this ₹2,000 serves as a vital cushion against the "whims" of rising input costs.

For those in districts like Prayagraj, Mirzapur, and Ballia, where registration rates are high, the process is expected to be smooth. For everyone else, tonight is the last chance to check your status on the official pmkisan.gov.in portal.
