Pakistan's Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, has claimed that Afghan nationals were responsible for two recent suicide bombings in the country. This assertion comes amid a surge in militant attacks in Pakistan, which has strained relations with Afghanistan's Taliban-led government.

The two attacks in question occurred last week, targeting a customs office in Peshawar and a police truck in Quetta. These bombings resulted in multiple casualties, including the death of a senior police officer in Peshawar and a captain and soldier in Quetta.

Naqvi stated that forensic analysis has confirmed the involvement of Afghan citizens as the perpetrators of these suicide attacks. This accusation is part of a broader trend of Pakistani officials blaming the spike in terrorism on militant groups allegedly operating from Afghan soil. Islamabad has repeatedly urged the Taliban to take decisive action against these groups, particularly the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which Pakistan claims has found a safe haven in Afghanistan.

The Taliban government in Kabul has consistently denied these allegations, insisting that they do not allow Afghan territory to be used for attacks against other countries. The recurring accusations have become a major point of contention between the two neighboring nations, contributing to heightened border tensions and a challenging diplomatic environment. The latest claim by Minister Naqvi is likely to further exacerbate these strained relations.
