In a significant move to modernize urban governance and improve citizen services, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced that all 17 municipal corporations in the state will soon operate out of state-of-the-art office buildings designed on the lines of corporate headquarters.

The initiative aims to create a "single-window" experience for residents, housing all major civic departments tax, water, health, and IT under one roof with high-tech amenities.

Project Scope and Targeted Cities

The project is being rolled out in phases to cover every municipal corporation in Uttar Pradesh.

Phase 1 Cities: Construction and planning have already commenced in four major cities: Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Moradabad, and Varanasi.

Total Coverage: The remaining 13 cities have been directed to identify land and submit project proposals immediately.

The 17 Cities: Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Aligarh, Agra, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Prayagraj, Firozabad, Bareilly, Mathura-Vrindavan, Meerut, Shahjahanpur, and Saharanpur.

Corporate-Style Facilities and Amenities

The new buildings are not just about aesthetics; they are designed to function as high-efficiency hubs:

Unified Tax Collection: Residents will be able to pay House Tax, Water Tax, and Sewer Tax at a single location.

Smart Control Rooms: Each building will house a centralized control room with a toll-free helpline to address city-wide grievances in real-time.

Digital Integration: The main headquarters will be digitally linked to all zonal offices, ensuring that data and services are synchronized across the city.

Public Conveniences: To mirror a corporate environment, these offices will feature:

High-speed Wi-Fi for visitors and staff.

Modern waiting lounges and public reception areas.

Paperless operations with a focus on online service delivery.

Ample parking and green-certified building standards.

Solar Cities: A Greener Vision

Parallel to this infrastructure upgrade, the government is transforming these 17 municipal corporations into "Solar Cities."

The Goal: To make these urban centers self-sufficient in power.

Implementation: Government buildings, including the new corporate-style municipal offices, will be equipped with rooftop solar panels to meet a significant portion of their energy needs.
