Suspense crime, Digital Desk : After a recent drone and missile attack on Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked for further international support to place added restrictions on Russia. The attack, which injured over a dozen civilians, sparked fires and explosions damaging property and businesses.
In Zelensky’s words, “The only thing that will make Moscow stop is additional sanctions aimed at vital Russian economy sectors,” indicating the world shares discontent with Moscow on his X (former twitter) post. According to him, Russia is intent on extending the war.
Ukraine Assumes Huge Russian Drone Attack With Iranian Shahed Drones
As reported by Zelensky, Ukrainian air defenses were engaged in dealing with the aftermath of extensive missiles and drone strikes which involved clearing up the debris and rescue operations. He informed the public that 14 ballistic missiles and a estimated 250 drones, the majority of which were Iranian Shahed drones, were utilized in the attack.
Ukraine’s air force confirmed the interception of six ballistic missiles and 245 drones out of Kyiv’s significant barrage-focused attacks.
Political Tensions Heighten along with Retaliatory Strikes
The strikes which Russia inflicted on Ukraine came after several days of Ukraine drone targeting attacks, which included Moscow. The Ukrainian military purportedly operated close to 800 drones during the counter-campaign.
Both Lavrov and the EUs visit to Kyiv did not help Ukraine strengthen its position on Lavrov blaming the EU for intensifying the drone strikes over Russian territories. Russia's response to Ukraine's surge will be blunt, which was also promised.
