Xiaomi has officially introduced the Redmi Note 14S in Central and Eastern Europe. However, this is not a completely new device. Instead, it is essentially the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G with a minor redesign of the camera island.
Same Hardware, Familiar Features
The specifications of the Redmi Note 14S remain identical to the previous model, including:
- Processor: MediaTek Helio G99
- Display: 6.67-inch AMOLED, 120Hz refresh rate
- Camera: 200MP main sensor
- Storage: 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage
These are the same features found in the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G, meaning no hardware upgrades have been introduced.
Software Concerns – Still Running Android 13?
A major concern with this release is the software version. The Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G, which launched in early 2024, came with Android 13, an already outdated version at the time. With the Redmi Note 14S, Xiaomi has not confirmed the exact OS version, leading many to speculate that it still runs Android 13, despite being marketed as HyperOS.
Color Options and Pricing
Xiaomi is offering the Redmi Note 14S in three colors:
- Blue
- Purple
- Black
The pricing varies by region:
- Ukraine: UAH 10,999
- Czechia: CZK 5,999
- Global estimate: Around $260 / €240 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant
Is the Redmi Note 14S Worth Buying?
If you already own the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G, there is little reason to upgrade. The hardware remains the same, and the software situation is unclear. For those looking for a budget-friendly phone with a 200MP camera and a smooth 120Hz AMOLED display, the Redmi Note 14S might be worth considering—but it’s more of a rebrand than a true upgrade.
