Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has once again found himself in hot water for his controversial remarks, but this time he is facing public hatred at home.

Khawaja Asif recently said in a TV interview in Pakistan, “The residents of Rawalkot and Mirpur in PoK are not real Kashmiris.” This statement by the Pakistani Defense Minister sparked an uproar.

Ruckus over Pak Defence Minister's statement

Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) 'Prime Minister' Faisal Mumtaz Rathore on Friday strongly criticised the statement of Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.

Rathore, while replying to Asif, said, 'The people of Jammu and Kashmir do not need confirmation from Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif or anyone else for their identity.'

Faisal Mumtaz Rathore further said, 'Boomers like him and their actions are dividing people instead of bringing them closer.'

Rathore further said, ‘After facing criticism for his mistake, now he is trying to handle the matter by pointing out the shortcomings in the governance of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.’

PoK PM asked to apologize

The Pakistani Defense Minister also issued a clarification to clarify his remarks after the statement. Khawaja Asif argued that Kashmiri identity is not determined by birth certificates, but by years of struggle and sacrifice.

According to media reports, Asif, while presenting his side, also pointed out the failures of governance in PoK.

Even after Khawaja Asif offered a clarification, Rathore said, "Sir, ask your superiors; they will tell you how well we governed. The more respectful thing to do would be to speak to the core issue and apologize for your original comment, rather than scapegoating our administration."
