According to details shared by a family spokesperson with The Associated Press, the horrific incident unfolded during a Sunday family dinner at a residential home in Billings.
Jennifer Mercer, who organized an online fundraiser to assist with funeral arrangements and family support, confirmed that the victims belonged to four generations of a mixed family. The youngest victim was a 7-year-old girl, while the eldest was a great-grandmother in her nineties.
Police Response and Neighbor Accounts
Local law enforcement agencies responded to emergency calls at the property on Sunday evening. Prior to the house becoming fully engulfed in roaring flames, nearby residents reported hearing loud popping sounds resembling fireworks coming from the rear of the property.
