Chinese Buddhist delegation to visit famous sites in India
Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : The first batch of a 31-member delegation of Buddhist pilgrims and students from China will visit India. Indian Consul General in Shanghai, Pratik Mathur, said the major destinations include Varanasi, Bodh Gaya, Rajgir and Nalanda.
Mathur on Monday met a delegation led by Abbot Shi Zhongshan, head of the historic Ciyun Monastery in the AI hub of Yangzhou, and urged them to oversee the reconstruction and restoration of Nalanda.
Sites like the Xuanzang Memorial Hall in Nalanda and the one-of-a-kind net-zero green Nalanda University campus have emerged as important symbols of the centuries-old Buddhist ties, academic exchanges and people-to-people contacts between India and China.
