It appears that Delhi's Talkatora Stadium will be renamed sometime soon. Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma says he will suggest changing the name of the capital’s oldest indoor stadium during the next New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) meeting.

Verma Nedesku attended an NDMC meeting for the first time ever this week, after the most recent Delhi election. ‘I took my oath today and I would like to propose in the next NDMC meeting to talk about the Talkatora Stadium men,’ Indian Express said quoting the MP from the BJP.

This is not the first time that the Delhi minister has talked about the renaming of Talkatora Stadium. Verma, who stood as the BJP candidate for New Delhi against AAP’s chief Arvind Kejriwal, promised voters during the campaign for the Delhi assembly election that if his party won, Talkatora Stadium will be renamed.

‘The Talkatora Stadium is very famous. It hosts a number of large events here and is visited by many people from all over the country and world. Therefore, its name should be changed. A number of Valmiki people have come up with a proposal,’ Verma claimed.

“... It will be discussed at the first meeting of the NDMC after February 8, and I suspect that the proposal will go through to change the Talkatora Stadium into Bhagwan Maharishi Valmiki stadium,” he said. According to Verma, “In the first council meeting of the NDMC that follows the 8th of February we will be talking about the renaming of the Talkatora Stadium and it will be renamed to Bhagwan Maharishi Valmiki Stadium.”

Stad named after famous figure idols and historical personages have been addressed by Chahal. The proposals have to go to the MHA, for further discussion or proposes additional changes for, or eventually approve and implement a federal mandate. Chahal mentioned, "We will go as a group on this, as a group we make a decision, and fundamentally everything has to go through the Minister of Home Affairs."

Innovation and strategy public processes committee claim and also almost same as other public Malaysia, they have an assumption to propose a rename modification should first be reported to General Administration Department to consider if to form the aunt’s proposal to be adequate for the 13 members council and after the council favors it, expect the finality from the Urban Development Department of the local government of Delhi. This has all been done according to the rules that the MHA set.
