Congress has announced the name of its candidate for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections against former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Congress has fielded Sandeep Dixit against Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi, one of the high profile seats. Sandeep Dixit is the son of former Delhi CM and Congress leader late Sheila Dixit, who was defeated by Kejriwal in the 2013 Delhi Assembly elections.

Will Sandeep take revenge for 2013?

After Sandeep Dixit got the ticket from Congress against Kejriwal, the question is now being raised whether Sandeep will be able to avenge his late mother’s defeat? In the 2013 Delhi Assembly elections, Arvind Kejriwal made a great debut in electoral politics by defeating the then Chief Minister Sheila Dixit. Kejriwal’s victory gave a big blow to the Congress party and Sheila Dixit’s popularity as Chief Minister decreased. Although Sheila Dixit contested the elections again in 2015, this time the AAP wave was very strong in Delhi and AAP won a huge majority under the leadership of Kejriwal.

Kejriwal is busy in winning Delhi again

With the victory in the 2013 elections, Arvind Kejriwal’s graph as a leader kept rising. However, a few months ago he got so entangled in controversies that he had to resign from the post of Chief Minister of Delhi. Kejriwal is once again engaged in vigorous preparations to win the upcoming assembly elections. Aam Aadmi Party has so far released two lists of candidates for the Delhi elections. AAP has announced 11 candidates in the first list and 20 candidates in the second.

What about the alliance between Congress and AAP?

Meanwhile, Congress has also released its first list and given tickets to 21 candidates. Let us tell you that Congress and AAP were considering a pre-poll alliance, but top leaders of both the parties including Arvind Kejriwal and Yadav are openly saying that they will fight the Delhi elections alone and will not make any alliance. Aam Aadmi Party has so far announced the names of 31 candidates for the Delhi elections.
