On Wednesday, the Modi government at the center introduced the amendment bill in the Lok Sabha to amend the Waqf Board Act. There was a lot of uproar in the Parliament regarding this bill. The opposition opposed this bill unanimously, while on behalf of the ruling party, Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju explained why there was a need to bring this bill. When the Waqf Board Amendment Bill was introduced in the Parliament, all 9 Lok Sabha MPs of the Uddhav faction were missing from the House. AIMIM national spokesperson Waris Pathan has stated this.

“Muslims will answer Uddhav”

Waris Pathan said, “When the Lok Sabha elections were held, Uddhav needed Muslim votes. A large number of Muslims voted for him in large numbers, but when the central government wanted to snatch the Waqf land from Muslims through this bill, Uddhav’s MPs were missing.” He said, “The Muslims of Maharashtra are watching everything. When they need votes, they come to Muslims to ask for votes, but when the central government is robbing their rights, they are missing. In the upcoming assembly elections, Muslims will answer Uddhav, everyone will be held accountable.”

The bill was referred to JPC

Let us tell you that the Waqf Amendment Bill-2024 was sent by the Central Government to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on Thursday. Earlier, it was introduced in the Lok Sabha by Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju. During the discussion, he also proposed to send the bill to the JPC. This bill was opposed by Congress, SP, NCP (Sharad Pawar), AIMIM, TMC, CPI (M), IUML, DMK, and RSP. During the debate on the proposal, AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi said that Waqf property is not public property. Waqf property means the place of mosque and dargah. The government is saying that we will make women members. Will they make Bilkis Bano a member, this government is the enemy of Muslims.
