Weather Update of 1 March 2025: While the rest of North India dreads the cold weather, the region is witnessing some rain and snow thanks to the western disturbance snow that has entered from Iran into the western Himalayas. Its snowing in Himachal Pradesh as well as in Jammu, Kashmir and Uttrakhand. At the same time, the plains area is receiving rainfall which has once again exposed people to cold. Now, let's see how the National Capital Region along with the rest of North India weather forecast for today.

In these states, there is a forecast of rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm activity.

There is a forecast of thunderstorm cum hailstorm today in Uttarakhand, Haryana and other northern parts of the country. The chilblains weather conditions are also observed to be in the process of establishing itself in Delhi-NCR and the rest of western UP. Talking about Jammu and Kashmir, for the last three days the area has been experiencing continuous rain and snow. Sonamarg, Banihal and Doda are among the places where snow is being reported. The traffic in the valley has stood still as the region has been experiencing incessant heavy snowy conditions. Snow removal work is life-threateningly being done using JCB. Now, because of such severe cold conditions, the school holidays in Kashmir has been lifted.

Uttarakhand also received heavy snow at its high altitude regions.

With the help of Western disturbance, the western boundaries of Khumbu lake have experienced severe winters with heavy snow at high altitude regions of Uttarakhand.

Uttarkashi is experiencing a life-threatening issue; the avalanching blizzards have ruptured the National Highway Gangotri, blocking traffic, while simultaneously the skies in Rudrayprayag are continuously bombarding flurries and rains, aggravating the situation even more. As if that wasn’t already alarming in its own right, an entire mountain’s snowcaps are avalanching while the thick layers of snow covering the Uttarkashi mountains are not helping the matter either; it looks like the met department needs to provide further information in regards to the snowstorm that is currently being wreaked havoc in the state of Chalak.

Delhi will remain dreary and dull throughout the day, as the clouds obstruct rays of sun while the predicted temperature hits 27 degrees. To put that into perspective, it is almost 1 degree more than the average temperature during this time, which is concerning for the people living in this brutal area.

The meteorological department has predicted that there will be clouds and thunderstorms in Delhi on Saturday. Hence, the maximum temperature in Delhi today is likely to be around 28 degrees while the minimum is likely to be around 15 degrees celsius.
