Suspense crime, Digital Desk : In a striking example of how quickly misinformation can spread during a global crisis, a fake screenshot of a post from Donald Trump's Truth Social account has gone viral, falsely announcing that he had single-handedly negotiated a ceasefire between Iran and Israel.
The phony message, which originated from a parody account on X (formerly Twitter), was designed to mimic Trump's signature communication style. It boldly declared an immediate "ceasefire" and warned both nations that he would "not be happy" if it were violated. The post claimed this was a result of his direct intervention.
This fabrication gained significant traction online precisely because it surfaced at a moment of extreme real-world tension. The hoax began spreading shortly after Iran launched an unprecedented drone and missile attack on Israel, and as the world held its breath waiting for Israel's response. Global leaders have been urgently calling for restraint to prevent a full-blown regional war.
The viral post tapped into this atmosphere of anxiety, duping some social media users into believing a major diplomatic breakthrough had occurred. However, the claim is entirely false. No such ceasefire exists, and Donald Trump was not involved in any negotiations.
This incident serves as a powerful reminder of the dangers of misinformation, especially during sensitive international conflicts. It highlights the importance of verifying sources and being critical of dramatic claims seen on social media, as fabricated content can easily inflame an already volatile situation.
