In a progressive move aimed at fostering financial independence, women affiliated with self-help groups under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) are all set to manage and operate canteens across 14 block headquarters in Bahraich. This transformative initiative is designed to create sustainable livelihood avenues, uplift local families, and turn rural homemakers into successful business entrepreneurs.
Comprehensive 15-Day RSETI Training For Skill Development
To ensure the grand success of this community-driven venture, the selected women are currently undergoing a rigorous 15-day specialized training program at the Indian Bank Rural Self-Employment Training Institute (RSETI). The training curriculum is meticulously crafted to cover every vital aspect of business management, including food preparation, strict sanitation standards, professional customer service, cash handling, and basic accounting. Each operating canteen will be managed collaboratively by a dedicated team of seven to eight women who will handle diverse roles ranging from cooks and waitstaff to cashiers and managers.
Financial Backing And Seamless Bank Linkages Under NRLM
Financial barriers are often the biggest hurdle in grassroots entrepreneurship, but this initiative bridges that gap effectively. Upon successful completion of their specialized training, the women's self-help groups will receive comprehensive financial assistance and easy bank loans facilitated through the National Rural Livelihood Mission framework. This robust financial backing ensures that the women can set up their business infrastructure smoothly without facing capital constraints, ultimately paving the way for permanent self-employment opportunities for over 100 women across the district.
Quality Refreshments For Officials And Citizens Across 14 Blocks
Beyond providing livelihood opportunities, these newly established canteens will serve as a much-needed utility hub for government employees, administrative officials, and general citizens visiting the block headquarters for daily official work by offering hygienic meals and refreshments. The initiative has been rolled out across major blocks in the district, including Balha, Kaiserganj, Huzurpur, Payagpur, Jarwal, Mahsi, Mihipurwa, Tejwapur, Visheshwarganj, Shivpur, Nawabganj, Risia, Fakharpur, and Chittaura, marking a monumental step toward rural self-reliance and inclusive local growth in Uttar Pradesh.
