UP's food processing and self-help group products to be sold in Germany: Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya
A significant initiative was undertaken today aimed at fostering investment, creating jobs, and providing global market access for local products in Uttar Pradesh. A German delegation met with Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya at his official residence at 7, Kalidas Marg, Lucknow. On this occasion, Mr. Maurya welcomed Mr. Stefan Wittenkind (Executive Officer, Innovation Hub RheinMain), Mr. Selvakumar Periyasamy (Chairman, GIBA), and Mr. Nirmal Raman Kannaiya (CEO, GIBA) by presenting them with bouquets and statues of Lord Gautam Buddha. Senior officials from Invest UP and the ODOP (One District One Product) department were present at the meeting. Additionally, Mr. Stefan Wittenkind presented a symbol of his country to the Deputy Chief Minister.
The meeting featured positive discussions on various topics, including the establishment of industries and businesses by German companies in Uttar Pradesh, investment prospects, and the promotion of bilateral trade. Discussions also covered introducing high-quality products—manufactured in the food processing sector and by self-help groups—to the German market.
The German delegation invited the Deputy Chief Minister to visit Germany, and both sides agreed to move forward with initiatives to connect Uttar Pradesh's products to the global market and strengthen trade relations.
Inviting German companies to invest and set up industries in Uttar Pradesh, Keshav Prasad Maurya stated that the state government is committed to providing investors with convenience, security, superior connectivity, and necessary transport infrastructure. An investment-friendly environment has been created in the state, and the government is extending all possible support to industries.
Mr. Maurya remarked that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, strengthening trade ties between India and European nations has opened up new business opportunities for Indian companies abroad. Markets for "Made in India" products—and specifically those manufactured in Uttar Pradesh—are now emerging internationally. He added that securing international markets for products from the food processing sector and women's self-help groups would provide fresh momentum to the rural economy, women's empowerment, and employment generation.
