Keshav Prasad Maurya allocated ₹1,242.50 crore to Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council members for the development of their constituencies
Keshav Prasad Maurya has approved the release of a substantial sum of ₹1,24,250 lakh (₹1,242.50 crore) under the Legislature Constituency Development Fund for the financial year 2026-27. For the 2026-27 financial year, there are currently 398 members out of a total of 403 in the Legislative Assembly, with 5 seats vacant. A total of ₹99,500 lakh (₹995 crore) has been allocated, calculated at the rate of ₹250 lakh per member. Similarly, regarding the Legislative Council, there are 99 members out of 100, with one seat vacant; a total of ₹24,750 lakh (₹247.50 crore) has been allocated at the rate of ₹250 lakh per member. Thus, a total of ₹1,24,250 lakh (₹1,242.50 crore) is being released for the development of the constituencies of 497 members out of the total 503 legislators.
Keshav Prasad Maurya stated that the state government's priority is to take development to every village and empower every region with basic amenities. The Legislature Constituency Development Fund will accelerate various development works linked to local needs—such as roads, drains, drinking water facilities, street lighting, and amenities for community and public use—thereby speeding up the pace of development in the lives of the state's villagers, the poor, farmers, laborers, and the general public.
Shri Maurya remarked that under the guidance of the visionary Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh is advancing towards new heights of development. The state government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach the person standing at the very last rung of society. He is working day and night with full dedication towards the holistic development of Uttar Pradesh. Ensuring the availability of funds for development works, the effective implementation of schemes, and addressing local needs through public representatives remain the government's priorities. These funds from the Legislature Area Development Fund will play a pivotal role in translating public aspirations into reality and strengthening the resolve to build a developed Uttar Pradesh.
The Deputy Chief Minister has issued clear directives to the concerned officials to ensure that the released funds are utilized with complete transparency, high quality, and within the stipulated timeframe. He reiterated the government's commitment to making Uttar Pradesh a leading state in the country and emphasized that the prompt resolution of every citizen's grievances at the local level remains a priority.
