Keshav Maurya approves projects worth ₹276.80 crore; 51 food processing units to be set up in UP
Additional Chief Secretary Shri B.L. Meena stated that this initiative marks a significant step towards job creation and economic empowerment through the food processing sector. The government's primary objective under this initiative is to provide new livelihood opportunities to citizens in both urban and rural areas, particularly women and the youth.
He mentioned that, under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, the Food Processing Department is encouraging the establishment of industrial units in rural areas. The government is making continuous efforts to promote the food processing industry across the state.
The state government is working to transform the food processing industry into an effective vehicle for employment and self-employment. The establishment of units in rural areas will provide jobs to local youth, while women will gain opportunities to engage in entrepreneurship. Small entrepreneurs and farmers will also have the chance to increase their income by associating with agro-based industries.
