To minimize passenger inconvenience and streamline travel during the ongoing Kanwar Yatra, the Railways has stepped up by launching two special trains operating between Delhi and Shamli. These dedicated services will run for a duration of 12 days, offering a much-needed direct transit option. Earlier, the massive influx of pilgrims prompted authorities to divert regular passenger trains running on the Delhi-Saharanpur route via Shamli directly toward Haridwar, leaving daily office-goers, students, and working professionals stranded. Recognizing the severe commuting hurdles caused by these route diversions, railway authorities intervened quickly to deploy these special train services on the critical Delhi-Shamli stretch.
Train Timings and Schedule for Passengers
The newly introduced special train services have been structured to accommodate the daily schedules of commuters effectively. According to the railway schedule, Train number 04401 departs from Delhi at 01:46 PM and safely arrives in Shamli by 04:40 PM. For the return journey, the train departs from Shamli the following morning at 06:00 AM, reaching the national capital of Delhi by 08:55 AM. This balanced timetable ensures that regular travelers can seamlessly manage their transit requirements without facing major delays, bridging the gap created by the seasonal diversion of regular passenger fleets toward Haridwar.
