Indian Railways Rolls Out 7 Pairs of Festival Special Trains via Bareilly to Bihar
Bringing immense relief to thousands of homebound passengers preparing for the upcoming Diwali and Chhath Puja celebrations, the Indian Railways has officially rolled out seven pairs of festival special trains to counter heavy waitlists and terminal congestion across primary rail routes. Operated through a coordinated schedule by the Northern Railway and North Eastern Railway zones, these dedicated holiday specials will pass through Bareilly Junction, Bareilly City, and Izzatnagar stations. The extensive arrangement opens crucial transit options for daily commuters and long-distance passengers heading toward eastern Uttar Pradesh (Purvanchal), Bihar, West Bengal, and western industrial hubs across Gujarat, significantly easing festive seat crunch along North India's busiest railway corridors.
Comprehensive Northern Railway Festive Links: Connecting Ludhiana to Saharsa, Darbhanga, Gaya, and Kolkata
Under the seasonal schedule, the Northern Railway has deployed reserved special services linking the Punjab industrial corridor of Ludhiana to major destinations across Bihar and Bengal, with scheduled intermediate halts at Bareilly Junction. The Ludhiana–Saharsa Reserved Special will depart Ludhiana on November 6, 9, and 11, pulling into Bareilly Junction at 3:00 AM the following morning, with return journeys departing Saharsa on November 8, 11, and 13 to reach Bareilly at 10:45 PM. Furthermore, the Ludhiana–Gaya Special is scheduled for departure on November 12, returning on November 13, alongside the Ludhiana–Kolkata Special departing on November 6 and 7 with regular stoppages at Bareilly Junction.
Dedicated Unreserved Rakes and Purnia Connections for Peak Migrant Rush
Catering to peak passenger density, rail authorities have introduced the Sirhind–Saharsa–Ambala Cantt unreserved festive special, operating strictly with general class unreserved coaches to accommodate last-minute travelers without confirmed reservations. This service will run from Sirhind on November 5, 9, and 12, while the return services from Saharsa will operate on November 6, 10, and 13. In parallel, the Ludhiana–Purnia Junction Reserved Special will service holiday travel demand by departing Ludhiana on November 5 and 9, and returning from Purnia on November 6 and 10, ensuring direct rail connectivity for travelers journeying across Seemanchal and Kosi river belts in eastern Bihar.
North Eastern Railway Deploys 22-Coach Uttaran–Lalkuan Special Across Three Bareilly Stations
Expanding cross-regional transit links toward Gujarat and Uttarakhand, the North Eastern Railway will run a weekly festival special between Uttaran and Lalkuan. Departing Uttaran on November 5 and 12, the rake will arrive at Bareilly Junction at 1:50 PM the following day, progressing to Bareilly City at 2:05 PM and Izzatnagar at 2:30 PM before terminating in Lalkuan.
