Post

Gearing up for the festive rush of Diwali while maintaining strict public safety standards and noise regulations, the Kannauj district administration has granted permission for temporary firecracker stalls across 11 designated open zones for a three-day period. Under executive orders issued by District Magistrate Ashutosh Mohan Agnihotri, the retail sale of firecrackers through authorized temporary licenses will remain operational from November 6 to November 8. Alongside designating the trading grounds, authorities have enforced strict environmental and safety measures, capping the permitted window for bursting fireworks strictly between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM on festive nights to prevent excessive pollution and public disturbance.

Designated Market Zones: Complete List of 11 Approved Grounds Across the District

To prevent hazardous congestion in busy markets and residential neighborhoods, the administration has relocated retail sales to expansive school grounds and open fields across all tehsils and blocks:

District Headquarters & Jalalabad: Sales will operate at the Boarding Ground at the Kannauj district headquarters and the Tiwari Inter College ground in Jalalabad.

Chhibramau, Gursahaiganj & Rural Belts: Approved sites include the Karaiya pond area in Chhibramau, the road to Majhpurwa in Gursahaiganj, and the Ramlila grounds in Talgram, Saurikh, and Vishungarh.

Tirwa, Indargarh & Thathiya: Dedicated retail spaces have been designated at the DN Inter College ground in Tirwa, Ramlila ground in Haseran, Naharkothi in Indargarh, and the open area in front of Adarsh Inter College in Thathiya.

Zero Tolerance for Illegal Sales: Police Warn of Strict Penal Action Against Violators

Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar emphasized that temporary trade licenses are being allocated strictly in line with statutory fire safety standards, clearance distances, and explosive guidelines. Law enforcement teams have been directed to conduct regular inspections across markets and major transit routes to curb unauthorized storage and illicit retail operations. Emphasizing strict compliance with the designated 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM fireworks timing, police officials warned that anyone found bursting crackers outside the permitted window or operating unapproved stalls will face immediate legal prosecution and seizure of goods under the relevant provisions of the law.
