Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Maurya suspended Sultanpur Project Director Ashok Kumar Singh
Mr. Keshav Prasad Maurya has suspended Ashok Kumar Singh, Project Director of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Sultanpur, with immediate effect and ordered a major inquiry against him. This action has been taken on the grounds that he was found prima facie guilty of conduct unbecoming of a government official, objectionable behavior towards subordinate staff, and disregard for the instructions of senior officers, as well as failure to properly discharge his official duties.
These actions constitute a violation of Rule 3 of the Uttar Pradesh Government Servants Conduct Rules, 1956. Given the gravity of the matter, orders have been issued to initiate disciplinary proceedings and conduct a major inquiry against Mr. Ashok Kumar Singh under Rule 7 of the Uttar Pradesh Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1999. Clear instructions have been issued to take strict action against officers and employees who display negligence in official work, indiscipline, or apathy in discharging their duties. He stated that public interest and public service are the top priorities of the state government. It is the responsibility of every officer and employee to ensure the effective implementation of government schemes and to provide timely, transparent services to the public; negligence or indiscipline at any level will not be tolerated. The Deputy Chief Minister clarified that it is the primary responsibility of officials to ensure that the benefits of the 'Double Engine' government's public welfare schemes reach the person standing at the very last rung of the social ladder. Strict action will continue against officers and employees who neglect public service, show negligence in official work, or engage in indiscipline. The suspension of the Sultanpur Project Director is an example of action taken in accordance with this policy.
