Accelerating the effective implementation of rural development schemes and ensuring transparency are top priorities: Keshav Prasad Maurya
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya held a telephonic discussion today with senior officials of the Rural Development Department to conduct a detailed review of the headquarters-level and district-level implementation of the VB G Ram Ji scheme. He sought details on the scheme's progress and directed officials to complete development works on a priority basis, in alignment with the vision of the 'double-engine' government. Emphasizing the robust participation of public representatives and Panchayats, the Deputy Chief Minister directed that 'Panch Sammelans' (gatherings of Panchayat representatives) be organized in every district to ensure the effective ground-level implementation of the scheme and to strengthen the role of local bodies. Active participation of local public representatives (MPs, MLAs, and members of District and Kshetra Panchayats) and Gram Panchayats must be ensured in these conferences to maintain public participation and transparency in development schemes. With the upcoming festive season in mind, and aiming to strengthen the rural economy and generate employment, he directed that work be immediately allocated to registered cardholders at the block level and that the pace of execution be accelerated. He instructed block-level officials to personally monitor the process to prevent any unnecessary delays for eligible cardholders in securing work or receiving wage payments. Warning of strict action against negligence, the Deputy Chief Minister clearly stated that any laxity in the scheme's implementation would invite severe consequences. No slackness, procrastination, or irregularity at any level would be tolerated; accountability would be fixed for any official or employee found at fault, and prompt disciplinary action would be taken against them.
