181 PCS Officers Transferred in 12 Hours, Total Reaches 363 in Two Days
Lucknow: The administrative machinery in Uttar Pradesh is operating at an unprecedented pace as the Yogi Adityanath-led state government executes a massive overhaul of the Provincial Administrative Service (PCS) cadre. Continuing a high-velocity reshuffle that began late Sunday night, the government released a second major transfer list on Monday, reassigning 181 PCS officers within a span of just 12 hours. This brings the cumulative total of transferred administrative officials to a staggering 363 within a mere 48 hours, signaling an aggressive push by the state administration to tighten grassroots governance across districts, tehsils, and development blocks.
Strengthening District Governance and Administrative Control
The ongoing administrative overhaul is strategically designed to reinforce leadership at the sub-divisional and tehsil levels, ensuring optimized delivery of public welfare schemes and tighter law-and-order supervision across various UP districts. Following the initial movement of 182 officers on Sunday, Monday's fresh directive saw 181 additional administrative personnel shifted to new postings. Government insiders indicate that this massive restructuring at the middle-management tier is a precursor to an anticipated high-level reshuffle involving senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in the state.
Key Sub-Divisional Magistrate Postings Announced
As part of the rigorous administrative reallocation finalized on Monday, the Uttar Pradesh government positioned several key officers as Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) across critical districts. The newly assigned postings include Nishant Tiwari as SDM Fatehpur, Sanjay Yadav as SDM Pratapgarh, Mohammad Zafar as SDM Sonbhadra, Naman Mehta as SDM Gorakhpur, Ankur Verma as SDM Jaunpur, Adesh Kumar as SDM Rampur, Vaibhav Gupta as SDM Kannauj, Shalini Devi as SDM Firozabad, Raju Kumar and Rahul Dwivedi as SDM Meerut, and Chitra Nirwal as SDM Hamirpur, all tasked with driving local administrative efficiency forward.
