A major accident has taken place in Meerut, UP in which 10 people are reported to be injured. According to information, a three-story house collapsed near lane number 6 in the Zakir Colony area of ​​Meerut. Eight to ten people are likely to be buried under the debris. Senior officials are present on the spot. Two people have been rescued. The fire department and other departments are engaged in relief work. But darkness is increasing and it is raining lightly at the moment, due to which there may be problems in rescue and relief work. Besides, due to narrow lanes, big machines are not able to reach for rescue and relief work. There is a gathering of local people.

CM Yogi took cognizance of the accident.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the building collapse incident in Lohianagar of Meerut district and has instructed the district administration officials to immediately take the injured to the hospital and provide them with proper treatment. Along with this, he also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the district administration officials to reach the spot and expedite the relief work.

Relief and rescue work is going on after the accident. The name of the owner of the house which has collapsed is Nafo Alauddin. A dairy was running under this house. Meerut Division Commissioner Selva Kumari said on the accident, “8-10 people are buried under a building which collapsed in Zakir Colony. Police and fire officials are carrying out rescue operations. Army, NDRF, and SDRF teams have been informed.” 

Meanwhile, Meerut ADG DK Thakur said that eight people are feared to be buried in the accident. SDRF teams have been called from Amroha and Saharanpur. The Chief Minister himself is monitoring this accident and relief and rescue work is going on.
