UP by-election 2024: All political parties have started preparations for the assembly by-elections to be held on 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh. Congress has announced election in-charges for all 10 seats. Congress has declared party MPs Kishori Lal Sharma, Imran Masood, Rakesh Rathore, Tanuj Punia, and Ujjwal Raman Singh as in charge of Sisamau, Meerapur, Kundarki, Ghaziabad, and Phulpur seats respectively. However, no concrete decision has been taken on what will be the math of seats between Congress and the Samajwadi Party in the assembly elections. Uttar Pradesh in-charge General Secretary Avinash Pandey says that discussions have started on who will contest which seat in Samajwadi Party and Congress. A decision will be taken on this very soon by consensus, the number strength has not been discussed yet.

In a special conversation with India TV, Avinash Pandey said that the way India Alliance got success in the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, on the same lines, India Alliance candidates will win with a huge majority by giving good results in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly by-elections. He said that India Alliance is yet to decide on its candidates. Avinash Pandey said that Congress has strengthened itself at the booth level on these 10 seats. The results that came in the 10 assembly by-elections will be better than the results that came in the Lok Sabha elections. The priority is to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party, we will see where the party’s presence is strong. Which party’s candidate can contest will be discussed and decided soon.
India Alliance is growing rapidly
Congress general secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh Avinash Pandey said that India Alliance has emerged strongly in Uttar Pradesh. Elections are going to be held on 10 seats, the candidates of India Alliance are yet to be decided on these 10 seats. Discussions have started on who will contest which seat between Samajwadi Party and Congress. A decision will be taken on this very soon with everyone’s consent. Talks on seat sharing continue
Avinash Pandey said that there has been no discussion yet on who will contest on how many seats. When asked that Congress has demanded 5 seats… while answering this he said that there has been no discussion on the strength of numbers yet. There were sitting MLAs of the Samajwadi Party on 5 seats, 5 seats were given to other parties. Discussion on seat sharing has started. Numbers are not so important, what is important is that the BJP should be defeated in Uttar Pradesh.
India coalition government in Maharashtra-Haryana
When Avinash Pandey was asked whether the Samajwadi Party is demanding seats in Haryana and Maharashtra in exchange for UP seats, Avinash Pandey replied that it will be decided at the all-India level, if the party feels that India Alliance will benefit from this alliance in Haryana and Maharashtra, then seat sharing will be considered. Avinash Pandey claimed that whenever elections are held in Maharashtra and Haryana, the India Alliance-Congress government will be formed there.
