Bharti Tulsi Gabbard – The US Director of National Intelligence is expected to join a conference of intelligence players in the national capital next week.

“Am literally on my way, or say…#WheelsUp on a multi-nation trip to the Indo-Pacific region and it’s one I know really well having grown up a child of the Pacific. I’ll be going to Japan, Thailand and India with brief stop in France enroute back to DC,” Gabbard declared in an update on X platform.

The former congressman noted that building strong relationships with a good understanding and open lines of communication is very important in achieving the objectives of President Trump with regard to peace, freedom, and prosperity.

Gabbard is also set to perform her duties around the rest of the region, meeting Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) intelligence community partners and leaders in Honolulu, American servicemen and women who are at a training exercise will also be visited by her.

Who is the one Gabbard will meet in Delhi?

As reported in the Express of India, G7 nations is expected in the meeting of intelligence bigwigs with Gabbard and some members of the Quad nations Australia and Japan during the meeting of Raisina Dialogue which some participants are expected to attend between March 17-19 which is following the conference organized by the Observer Research Foundation and the External Affairs Ministry.

Along with the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the R&AW and IB heads will be present during this meeting.

Why is Gabbard’s visit to Delhi important?

This will be Gabbard’s first visit to India after she became the eighth Senate confirmed and first female combat veteran DNI of the Trump administration. Gabbard met Prime Minister Modi for the first time on bilateral discussions with President Trump at the White House and Gabbard was the first US official to meet Modi at the Blair House after he arrived in Washington on February 12th.

With regards to Gabbord, the advancement of the military partnership between India and America, as well as the sharing of intelligence and regional security, will be the purpose of her visit. Strengthening military relations between India and America have been on the rise, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region which has been a point of concern for both nations.

Gabbard has been a steady advocate for India and was very vocal about the mistreatment of the Hindu population in Pakistan and Bangladesh. She has visited India multiple times in recent years including back in 2014 during a two week's trip, as reported by the IE.
