Suspense crime, Digital Desk : President Trump has escalated the row regarding academic freedom and campus activism by unilaterally deciding to revoke Harvard University’s tax-exempt status. The university in question had refused to comply with a slew of federal dictates, including restrictions on campus clubs and changes to the admissions policy.

Trump Alleges Harvard is Misusing Tax Benefits

In a social media post, Trump claimed Harvard ‘deserves’ to lose their tax exemption.

Trump has publicly lambasted this institution for what he views as a lack of political balance and failure to comply with public funding stipulations using taxpayer dollars.

Tax Funding Freeze in Retaliation

The University saw an abrupt halt of $2.2 billion in federal research grant funding and $60 million in contracted services.

The university only funds these grants through taxpayer dollars. These are forcibly given to the university if these taxpayers enact sufficient political changes untouched in years, along with an impossible list of desperate demands which include altering leadership, admitting underrepresented demographics, and other redundant diversity initiatives.

Harvard Tries to Defend Constitutional Rights

President of Harvard University Alan Garber says these actions are unlawful and damaging to higher education in the country.

In response to Harvard Government class students attempting to legally enact executive orders under the guise of fulfilling their self-mandated duties the President made it clear that Harvard University would not be able to cede its independence or legal rights to suffer extreme political coercion.

Extra Federal Probings Started

Because of the mounting scrutiny that followed the campus protests around the Gaza war, the US government announced full-scale probes into alleged racial discrimination Harvard Law Review subjected the university through.

Demonstrations and Political Pressure

Harvard has been the epicenter of the classified protests across the country over Gaza. And has not budged an inch.

Already, Republican leaders have upped the ante towards leading universities for what they claim is anti-semetic behavior, demanding action policies.
