While talking about the retrieval of NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, who have been stuck on the International Space Station (ISS) for the past nine months, US President Donald Trump made a lighthearted comment regarding Williams’ hairstyle.

The President of the United States, during his address in the Oval Office, assured that the two astronauts will be brought back to earth after spending 9 months on the International Space Station (ISS).

“Right now we have two astronauts who are literally stuck in space. For example, I have asked Elon (Musk), I said, ‘Do me a favour. Can you get them out?’ And he said, 'Yes.' I think hes getting ready to go up in two weeks,” said Trump. “And I see the woman with the wild hair, good, solid head of hair she’s got. There's no kidding. There's no games with her hair.”

{\footnotesize Williams \&  Wilmore, both 59, were scheduled for an eight-day mission aboard Boeings Starliner in June 2024. They were supposed to dock with the ISS and later head back to earth. However, due to some mechanical issues like helium leakage and thruster malfunction, the Starliner became unfit for their return.

When talking about the return of the two Starliner astronauts, Trump added, “They have been left up there. I hope they like each other, maybe they'll love each other. I don't know. But they've been left up there. Think of it.”

Trump commented that SpaceX CEO Musk is, “Right now preparing a ship to go up” and get them.

Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, stated on X that “the astronauts were only supposed to be up there for 8 days and now have been there for 8 months.” He argued that SpaceX could have brought them back six months ago, but the Biden administration would not allow it. “President Trump asked to bring them back as soon as possible, and we are doing so,” Musk stated.
