The entire cast and crew of the highly anticipated film Thug Life came together at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai for the grand launch of its first single 'Jinguchaa'. The event was graced by industry giants including Kamal Haasan, director Mani Ratnam, music maestro A.R. Rahman, along with Silambarasan TR (Simbu), Trisha Krishnan, Joju George, and Ashok Selvan.

Simbu Calls Kamal Haasan His 'Guru'

At the press conference, actor Silambarasan (Simbu) spoke emotionally about his experience working with the legendary duo Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam.

“This film is like a dream. With Mani sir, we grew up watching his films wanting to be part of them. Kamal sir, my on-screen guru — I admire him immensely. Working with both of them, along with Rahman sir's music, is surreal,” Simbu shared.

He further revealed the initial difficulty of performing under Mani Ratnam’s direction due to the director’s intense shooting style. However, he gradually adapted and cherished the experience of working under two of Indian cinema’s greatest legends.

Gratitude Towards Kamal Haasan

Simbu also reminisced about growing up watching Kamal Haasan’s films and how impactful they were on him as a child actor. He expressed his deep appreciation for Kamal Haasan’s support, encouragement, and generosity on set.

“Kamal sir truly took care of me. He gave me a space beside him, and that means a lot. I am thankful for his kindness and respect,” Simbu added.
